Director of Bands

Eric Fry

Mr. Eric Fry is in his second year as Director of Bands for West Harrison and in his twelfth year of teaching overall. Previously, Mr. Fry was the Director of Bands for the Bay Waveland School District for five years, and he also spent five years as the band director at Hancock Middle School. 


Originally from Marietta, Georgia, Mr. Fry graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Music Education. His primary instrument is the baritone saxophone. While in college, Mr. Fry marched euphonium with Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps and has taught visual in the drum corps circuit with Spirit of Atlanta, Music City, and Southwind. 


Mr. Fry loves spending time at home with his wife, Blair, his daughter, Isabelle, and his miniature schnauzer, Siegfried. He is a member of the Coastal Winds Adult Community Band. He enjoys anything Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Legend of Zelda.

Brittany Miller

With 6 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Miller is excited to bring her passion for music to West Harrison! She has taught at Mize High School and West Jones High School before moving back home to the coast to teach at Bay. She plays the flute & has Colorguard background. Mrs. Miller is a board member for HOPE Independent


Winterguard based in Hattiesburg, MS. 

She is a proud Army soldier and musician for the 41st Army Band in Jackson, MS. She has been serving our Mississippi National Guard since 2021. She’s excited to share her military experiences and performances with her students! 


Mrs. Miller is also a proud mom to a beautiful and sweet girl. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Director of Bands WHMS

Tanner Crabtree

Tanner Crabtree is currently in his 5th year as a band director for the West Harrison Band Program. His primary roles include visual instructor for the high school marching band as well as one of the two band directors at West Harrison Middle School. Since his appointment at West Harrison Middle School, the bands have consistently achieved superior ratings in both concert and sight reading as well as attended the Southern Star Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. The high school marching band has also consistently received superior ratings, medaled at state marching championships, and have been named class champions/finalists at Bands of America regional competitions. 


Prior to working at West Harrison, Mr. Crabtree taught at Stone High School for one year. He is a graduate of Gautier High School and The University of Southern Mississippi. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Mr. Crabtree attended graduate school at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Crabtree actively teaches oboe lessons on the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well as performs in the Coastal Winds Adult Wind Ensemble and the Biloxi Civic Orchestra.
